INNOVATION IN TECHNOLOGY
Dr Ramendra Lal Mukherjee, a scientist from West Bengal, has invented a pocket ventilator. The highly portable device runs on battery support and can provide instant support to people who have breathing difficulties owing to the virus. The machine can assist in breathing till medical support arrives.
BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE
Utrecht Science Park in Netherlands has created the longest rainbow bike path in the world. An initiative of student Elias van Mourik (22), path is a symbol to show that everybody is welcome to be who they are. Mourik says, “It is great that you get a symbol that shows that everyone is accepted.”
SERVING HUMANITY
In a goodwill gesture, Dr Gaurav Grover and his team have helped more than 500 patients get admitted in various hospitals. Besides arranging oxygen cylinders and medicines, they have distributed freshly cooked meals to more than 70,000 people and dry ration packets to more than 2000 families in RK Puram in New Delhi.
AN ACT OF SELFLESS SERVICE
Indian Army doctors always strive to preserve the health, fitness and the indomitable spirit of our soldiers. The Gajraj Corps of the armed forces took to Twitter to share how doctors from the armed forces performed a complex surgery to save the life of a mother and her infant in Dahung, Arunachal Pradesh. The locals couldn’t thank them enough for their timely assistance.

Pravin Bhandarkar, a 41-year-old man who suffers from speech deficiencies and is unable to use his left hand fully, is an inspiration to many. Despite this, he has been donating blood since his college days and has saved multiple lives. Even in the pandemic, he made sure he visits blood donation camps.
FOR A SAFER WORLD
The road safety cell of Delhi Traffic Police organised a virtual session for students to educate them about traffic rules and road safety. They also encouraged the students to follow Covid appropriate behaviour including wearing a mask, washing hands and maintaining social distance. A total of 226 students and 42 teachers and parents participated in this initiative.
