Cabinet approves fitment committee for salary fixation of govt employees
RANCHI: The state cabinet on Tuesday approved constituting a fitment committee for revising the pay of government employees as per the recommendations of the seventh pay commission and cleared the decks for the formation of a state disaster response force and three medical colleges and hospitals.
The committee has been asked to submit its reports with recommendations within two months from the date of notification of constituting the committee.
With this move, state government employees can expect of getting a salary at par those employed under the Centre by the end of the year, with retrospective effect from January 1, 2016.
Devasish Gupta, retired IAS officer and present chairman of the special investigation team to stop illegal transfers of lands violating tenancy acts, will be the chairman of the fitment committee.
The cabinet also decided that the proposed state disaster response force, along the lines of the CRPF and JAP, will be a dedicated force to tackle disasters in Jharkhand. There will be 132 posts in the SDRF.
The three medical colleges and hospitals will come up in Hazaribagh, Dumka and Medininagar (Palamu). The government will provide `885.25 crore for setting up infrastructure. Cabinet secretary SS Meena said each medical college will enrol 100 students and the hospitals will comprise 250 beds in Hazaribagh, 200 beds in Palamu and 227 beds in Dumka.
