JAMSHEDPUR: Jamshedpur MP and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) candidate Ajoy Kumar, along with around 150 supporters, sat on a dharna at Aam Bagan on Thursday. For, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narenda Modi did not pay heed to his demand of meeting him during his Jamshedpur visit.

The MP had asked Modi to answer him about why the BJP had given election ticket to an accused of RS horse-trading case. Kumar had also wished to ask 20 questions alleging the BJP for promoting corrupt persons and compromising with its principles of ‘party with a difference’.

“Through the letter to Modi, we are spreading message among masses that there is difference in words and deeds of BJP. The party charges Congress for promoting corrupt people, but Modi is silent why Vidyut Baran Mahato has been given ticket who is facing charges in the horse-trading case. Modi is speechless over such charges, hence he did not meet us,” Dr Kumar alleged.

JVM(P) leaders said that through the letter, they want to inform the prime ministerial candidate Modi that local leaders have kept him in dark about Mahato, who was brought from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and facing corruption charges.

The BJP leaders have called the dharna as a political drama that shows Kumar’s frustration and threat from the BJP candidate in the ongoing Lok Sabha election.

“The JVM(P) is free to lodge complaint with the Election Commission if he has objections over the BJP candidature. Kumar always goes for cheap gimmicks,” BJP leader said.
