Sangeeta praises seasonal TV

Actor Sangeeta Ghosh (above), who features in a TV show based on parenting, believes that the trend of season format on Indian television is wonderful for actors as well as content makers.

“I feel that the season concept on TV is great. This format helps to give a good break for the actors and the makers of the shows. You can come back again all fresh, and start anew because as much as you try, you tend to feel a little stagnated, and then you tend to repeat yourself,” says Sangeeta.

The actor hopes that this trend is here to stay in the country. “This concept is going to take some time to properly establish here, as the thought process of viewers in our country is different from those in the west, where this format has been existing since quite some time,” adds Sangeeta, who has earlier been a part of shows like Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand and Kehta Hai Dil - Jee Le Zara.

In her current show, Sangeeta plays the role of a mother. She says it’s a wrong perception that an actor gets categorised after picking such characters.

“This categorisation doesn’t really happen. One should be patient, and good roles do come. I have no issues with playing a mother after Jee Le Zara, which was a love story and was very romantic. But my character in this new show is also very interesting, as she too romances her husband,” she says. “I did not even give it a thought that I will be playing a mother. Although I’ve said no to a lot of mother roles, but I found this role rather interesting,” she adds.
