Ludhiana’s Tarush secures rank 23, Hisar’s Shivam 30
LUDHIANA/HISAR:Tarush Goyal, 17, secured 23rd rank in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) (Mains) results, which were declared by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Monday evening.
Goyal, who aspires to become a computer science engineer, is a Class 12 student of BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School, Shastri Nagar, Ludhiana.
In his Class 10 exams, Goyal, a student of Sat Paul Mittal School, topped in Ludhiana district with 97.8% marks in 2016 in the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) exam. He had also topped in the state in National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) held in 2016.
Both his parents are doctors working as rural medical officers in Ludhiana. His father, Sunil Goyal, works at a government dispensary, Dhandara and mother, Rinkal Goyal, at a government dispensary at Jassowal.
Tarush says he put in 11 hours of study daily for the JEE. His mother said, “He was focused and consistent with his studies so that he can get admission in India’s top IIT institute.”
HISAR BOY MAKES HARYANA PROUD
Hisar lad Shivam Goyal, a resident of Sector 13 secured AIR 30 in the JEE (mains) on Monday. Murari Goyal, Shivam’s father and a chartered accountant with a private company, said, “My son completed his schooling from Jindal School Hisar. We are very proud of him today. He scored 333 out of 360 marks securing the 30th rank.”
Shivam’s mother Madhu Goyal is a housewife. She said, “After completing Class 10, Shivam disconnected himself from all social media platforms to fully concentrate on studies. We sent him to Delhi for better studies.”
