EXCONSTABLES OF THE DISBANDED HARYANA STATE INDUSTRIAL SECURITY FORCES AND HARYANA ARMED POLICE WILL BE APPOINTED AS SPECIAL POLICE OFFICERS
The Haryana cabinet on Thursday decided to engage 1,500 special police officers (SPOs) in all districts on contractual basis for a year.
The officers will be engaged from ex-constables of the disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Forces (HSISF) and Haryana Armed Police (HAP), recruited in 2004, whose selection was quashed. The cabinet also approved to engage 400 ex-army and ex-paramilitary personnel on contractual basis as jail wardens. An official spokesperson said the decision was taken to meet “acute shortage” of police personnel.
