19yearold stabbed to death, two arrested

A 19-year-old girl was stabbed to death by two persons in front of her mother in the Barah Quarter area of Hisar district on Friday night.

Police arrested both the accused on murder charges within two hours of the incident. Police will produce the accused before local court.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Rani. When contacted SP Rajendra Kumar Meena, said, “Two hours after the incident, police teams arrested Naseeb (28) and Rajan (26), residents of Bharat Nagar.”

“Prima facie we have came to know that Rajan and Naseeb are cousin brothers of Rajesh Kumar. Kumar was married and was having an affair with Priyanka. About two years back, Rajesh and Priyanka had tried to commit suicide. Rajesh died during in the aftermath while Priyanka survived,” Meena further added.

“That is when Naseeb and Rajan decided to kill Priyanka. On Friday night, at about 10pm, Naseeb and Rajan entered the house and stabbed Priyanka in front of her mother Krishna Devi.

The victim's father Ballu Ram was out of the house when the incident took place,” Meena said.

Sources suggest that two more men were involved in the crime and were guarding the entrance gate but they managed to flee from the spot after the incident.

The Barah-Quarter police post is approximat­ely 100 metres away from the crime spot. The victim's mother had rushed to the station to seek help. HTC
