Makers of SRK’s Jawan accused of plagiarism

-

Even before its trailer could be released, actor Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film, Jawan, has run into a controversy. A plagiarism complaint has been filed against filmmaker Atlee for allegedly copying the story of the Tamil film Perarasu (2006), according to a report.

Producer Manickam Narayanan has filed a complaint with the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC), which will be investigating the issue. The film, which is currently being shot, is scheduled for a June 2023 release. Back in 2019, Atlee faced a similar accusation for his film Bigil, but the case was dismissed by the court.

Meanwhile, SRK fans were in for a treat on Saturday as the actor hosted an Ask Me Anything session on Twitter, where he got candid about his personal and professional life. One user asked him what keeps him motivated to deal with his problems, to which he replied, “One has to believe that good will always outweigh the bad…” Many speculated that the answer was directed to the arrest of his son, Aryan Khan, in the drugs-on-cruise case last year.

When a fan asked him, “Why are you so hot?” Shah Rukh replied in his witty best, saying, “Peri peri sauce with chicken helps… I think.”

The actor celebrated his 57th birthday on November 02. He was asked how he felt when he saw the huge crowd gathered outside his Mumbai home, Mannat, to which he replied, “It’s been years because of Covid-19 restrictions, so it was really nice to see people come to visit.” His younger son, AbRam, also joined him when he came out to greet fans. When asked what AbRam thinks about his father’s stardom, Shah Rukh said, “He is a kindly child and feels happy so many people come to say hello to his dad.”

On his return to the big screen after four years, with Pathaan, the actor said, “It’s like coming back home.”
