SECOND PHASE OF VHP’S FUND RAISING FOR RAM TEMPLE BEGINS
LUCKNOW : The second phase of Vishwa Hindu Parishad’s nationwide door-to-door campaign to raise funds for the construction of Ram temple began from Ayodhya on Monday.
The organization’s cadre will reach out to around 11 crore families across the country.
A total of 46,000 volunteers of the VHP, BJP, RSS and other saffron outfits have been given the responsibility to collect contributions from people and deposit these funds in banks.
VHP national vice president, Champat Rai, started the campaign from Rikabganj area of Ayodhya (earlier Faizabad).
Rai is also general secretary of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirath Kshetra Trust.
The campaign, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Ram Mandir Nidhi Samarpan Abhiyan, began on January 15 and will continue till February 27.
The first phase of the campaign ended on January 31 in which the VHP had contacted prominent people for their contribution.
“Local leaders will accompany all such teams moving door to door for fund collection. The presence of a local person, who is familiar with everyone in his area, has been made compulsory for every team,” said Sharad Sharma, regional spokesperson, VHP, who operates from Karsevakpuram.
This is to make sure that no unwarranted element starts collecting money, added Sharma.
The VHP issued coupons of Rs 10, Rs 100 and Rs 1,000.
If anyone wants to contribute more than this amount (Rs 1,000), then he or she will get a receipt.
