LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath is likely to offer prayer at Gorakhnath temple in Gorakhpur when it reopens after about two-and-a-half months for devotees on Monday.

Yogi, who is head priest of the temple, on Sunday reviewed the arrangement for the opening of the temple at a meeting with members of temple’s management committee, security personnel, volunteers and priests. A district administration officer said the chief minister is likely to offer prayers at 4 am and later the temple will be opened for devotees from 5 am to 9 pm with Covid-19 guidelines.

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath said here on Sunday that labourers and workers would trigger the state’s rebuilding once they started getting jobs in industry, agriculture, horticulture and construction sectors.

Addressing the Unlock-1 and Covid-19 review meeting at his official residence here, Yogi said, “So, put in place a work plan now to start giving jobs to labourers and workers from June 15 onward.”

Yogi said that all divisional commissioners should endeavour to escalate development works and revenue collection in districts. They should begin reviewing and expediting development works and revenue collection in districts under their jurisdiction.

Yogi asked the officers concerned to make a work plan to give a fillip to construction activities. “Once the construction of expressways, medical colleges, universities, roads, canals and other things begins, employment can be given to labourers. Also explore employment opportunities for labourers in industry, agriculture, horticulture and construction sectors. These people can be employed in various central and state government schemes,” he said.

Yogi Adityanath asked all district magistrates and divisional commissioners to establish a dialogue with people and stakeholders in their respective areas as phase 2 of Unlock-1 would commence on Monday. “Inspect Covid-19 and non-Covid-19 hospitals regularly and ensure adequate arrangements in community kitchens and quarantine centres,” he said.

“Do sanitization work in both urban and rural areas to contain Covid-19 transmission. The rural development department and its urban counterpart should make a coordinated effort to help street vendors get loans. Pay special attention to arrangements in medical colleges in Agra, Meerut, Aligarh, Moradabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar and Firozabad, given the Covid-19 incidence in these districts. However, all the Covid and non-Covid hospitals in the state must have a system in place for regular rounds of wards by doctors and nurses. Keep the hospitals clean all the time and also ensure they have oxygen back-up,” he said.

He also asked the police officers concerned to keep an eye on social media to check anti-social activities. UP chief secretary, RK Tiwari, infrastructure and industrial development commissioner Alok Tandon, agriculture production commissioner Alok Sinha, additional chief secretary (home) Avanish Awasthi and several other officers were present at the meeting.
