-

VARANASI:A 16-year-old girl, who was allegedly raped by two persons under Saraimeer police station area of Azamgarh district on Thursday, has reportedly been expelled from her school citing ‘negative effect on other students’.

Though sources at the school said the management has sent a notice to this effect to her kin, her family members said they haven’t received any such information so far. However, the victim’s father said if the school has done so, this was very painful because the girl was already under tremendous mental shock and this would add to her trauma.DM Nagendra Prasad Singh said, “The SDM has been instructed to conduct a probe and he has already started the probe. Strict action will be ensured against the school management and principal if the matter is found to be true.”Singh further said that all support would be ensured to the girl for her education. When contacted DIoS, Dr VK Sharma, said he was out of station and would look into the matter after returning back.

However, he too assured strict action against the school officials if the matter was found to be true.

Station officer Saraimir police station area Sher Singh Tomar said the rape incident took place on Thursday but a case was registered on Sunday after the victim’s father lodged a complaint.

He said as per the complaint, the girl was dragged by Sikandar and Rishi, both residents of Para village in the area, into a fourwheeler when she was on the way to school.“The duo took her to an isolated location and raped her at gun point. Later, they dumped her near Belhari Imam Ali village,” Tomar said.

He said the girl, a Class 11 student in a college in a nearby village, somehow managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her parents. “They (the miscreants) threatened the girl of dire consequences if she disclosed the incident to anyone,” Tomar said adding that the duo even threatened the victim’s father on Saturday. He said the victim’s father, however, mustered courage and lodged a complaint on Sunday.

“A case has been registered against the duo under relevant sections of IPC and the vehicle used in the incident has been seized,” he said.
