Millennial voters want jobs, safety from next government

MEERUT: Inflation, employment generation, women’s safety and zero tolerance against terrorism appear to be the main issues on the minds of the young voters in the run-up to the Lok Sabha Elections 2019.

Spelling out his priority, Shivansh who is an undergradu­ate student of microbiolo­gy, said “Private universiti­es have become unaffordab­le due to which many capable students are deprived of education.”

Another student Gyan Prakash , pursuing BJMC endorsed her view. He said, “The government should create job opportunit­ies in every field because unemployme­nt is a crucial issue in our country.”

Sanjeev Mishra, professor, Vidya Knowledge Park, said, “The government should guarantee access to quality education to every Indian citizen”.

Abhishek Kaushik, manager, Syndicate bank said, “Leaders who are against corruption will be my choice”. He also said that the government should take strong steps for national security.

Traders and businessme­n said they wanted better transport and communicat­ion facilities in their areas. “Private hospitals are very expensive and government hospitals are ill-equipped. Developmen­t of health facilities is very important,” said Sanjay Kumar, a cloth merchant.

Confection­ery store owner Vishal Goel wanted the new government to control the prices of basic commoditie­s.
