Akhilesh’s tirade against Congress continues
LUCKNOW: Amid speculations about a possible Samajwadi Party-Congress tie-up for the Lok Sabha elections in UP, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s tirade against the grand old party continued in Chhatisgarh and Madhya Pradesh on Sunday.
Addressing a poll rally in the Pathariya assembly constituency in MP, he held both the Congress and the BJP responsible for pulling the country backward. He said earlier the Congress played a ‘game’ in the deal of the Rafale fighter planes and now it was the turn for the BJP to do the same thing. He also said both the Congress and the BJP were equally responsible for doling out banks’ money to the industrialists. He had attacked the Congress in his rallies in Chattisgarh too and had said that the Congress and the BJP “have looted this country”.
Yadav said like-minded parties in UP joined hands to defeat the ‘casteist’ and ‘communal’ BJP to the extent that the party was made to lick dust even in the bastions of the chief minister and the deputy chief minister. He, however,

did not refer to an alliance that may come up in UP for parliamentary polls. The Congress was not a part of alliance for bye-polls in UP.
Observers feel that Akhilesh Yadav’s stepping up attack on the Congress may just be an indications of the alliance politics that may take shape in UP in coming days.
Meanwhile, having fielded more than 50 candidates in the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, the Samajwadi Party will now release its election manifesto in Bhopal on Tuesday.
Giving this information here on Sunday, SP spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said Akhilesh Yadav will release the party’s manifesto at a press conference and also address two public meetings in support of party candidates Narendra Pratap Singh and Gauri Singh Yadav under Singhawal and Paraswara assembly segments.
