Parents claim they were planning to admit the sevenyearold girl to Navodaya School
ETAH: The seven-year-old girl, allegedly raped and murdered by a 19-year-old man early on Tuesday during a wedding in Etah, was a brilliant student and wanted to become a teacher, according to her parents.
“She wanted to become a teacher. I was planning to admit her to Navodaya School to ensure a bright future for her. She passed class 2 with flying colours. She was always a support for her two younger brothers,” the girl’s father said.

English-medium school. She was a fine artist and could sketch whatever she saw. She used to say she would teach girls to help them find their identity,” he said, adding that her daughter was far more mature than the children of her age.
A neighbour Mohit Kumar recalled that the girl used to go to a computer centre near her house.
“She regularly visited the computer centre and used to ask about career prospects. A soft spoken girl like her should not have met such a tragic end,” he said.
“Recently, her parents had to leave the children at our place as there was some tragedy in their relation and they had to go out of the town. The girl was so responsible that she got up early and got her two brothers ready before going to school,” said Kumar, who runs a shop in the area. Shops near the Mandi Samiti premises remained closed in view of the girl’s death.
“Strict laws should be formulated to ensure no father loses her daughter. We have to give a safe world to our daughters where they can do what they want,” the girl’s father said.
