Boy goes missing from school, body found

RAEBARELI: Body of a four-year-old boy Noman, who had been missing from Alhmda Public School situated in Ahia Raipur where he had gone to appear from an admission test along with his parents on Wednesday, was found from Barwaripur pond on Friday morning.

On receiving informatio­n, police reached the spot and fished out the body from the pond situated around 300 metres away from the school. The boy’s parents also reached the spot and alleged that even though they had lodged a missing complaint on Wednesday, police did not take up the case urgently. Police, meanwhile, said that they had formed search teams that were on the lookout for the boy.

Confirming this, Kotwal police station incharge AK Singh Parhar said kidnapping report had been filed by Noman’s parents against unknown persons. Several police parties had been formed to carry out search operations since then. No one was arrested since the filing of this report.

The reporter also tried to contact the school management, however, calls went unanswered.

Meanwhile, Family members along with locals started protesting following which superinten­dent of police Shiv Hari Meena along with a constable entered the pond to conduct a probe. They sent the body for autopsy. The agitating mob then reached Alhmda Public School and staged a protest. Police assured them of rapid action following which the crowd dispersed.

Te recall, Noman along with his father Sageer Ahmad and mother Mesar Jehan, resident of resident of , Anwar Nagar under Kotwali police station, had taken Noman for an admission test to Alhmda Public School. The boy was taken to another room to write the paper while his parents were made to wait at the reception. Even after two hours when Noman did not come out of the room, his parents inquired about him. The school management told them that Noman had given his test and left the room sometime back. They said he may have gone out from the other gate of the school. They boy’s parents searched for him and finally lodged an FIR at Kotwali police station.
