He directed the officials to run a campaign for immunization and ensure availability of necessary medicines to prevent post flood infectious diseases in the flood hit areas.

He said relief supply and food packets/bags should reach every flood affected person on a regular basis.

Officials of the irrigation, food and civil supplies, medical health and revenue departments informed Kumar about the relief measures and steps taken by them to tackle the situation.

DRONE TECHNOLOGY

Meanwhile, the state government has directed Irrigation Department to make use of drone technology for mapping and carrying out desilting of canals.

The directives were issued by chief secretary Rajive Kumar in a meeting with senior officials of the Irrigation department here on Wednesday.

Officials were told that the drone technique would enable them to carry out detailed canal/terrain survey and prepare irrigation maps based on which they could pinpoint where desilting or cleaning was required.

To ensure transparency in functioning, the officers were asked to upload compliance report and development reports on the department’s website on a regular basis.
