Mahavir Jayanti celebrated with zeal
LUCKNOW: Jains celebrated Mahavir Jayanti with great zeal and enthusiasm all over the city on Sunday. Rituals were performed at the eight-feet statue of Lord Mahavir which was inaugurated last year in Hathi Park.
Siddharth Jain of Shri Jain Dharma Pravardhani Sabha said that a prabhat pheri was taken out in various parts of city. During the celebration in Hathi park, cultural programmes were also held.
In Patel Nagar Jain Temple , the day began with a prabhatpheri (procession) which passed through the colony.
A special puja was performed in the temple. President of Shri Jain Dhar ma Pravardhani Sabha Vinay Kumar Jain said, “The Jains prayed for peace and prosperity of the country on the occasion.”
NEW DARBAR HALL OPENS
The new Darbar Hall of Sadar Gurudwara was inaugurated on the eve of Baisakhi on Sunday. The fully air conditioned Darbar Hall is equipped with all the modern facilities like a big LED which would show direct telecast of the various rituals taking place inside the hall. The hall has been fitted with latest studio sound affect , sensor doors. President Shri Guru Singh Sabha Rajendra Singh has congratulated the Sikh community on the eve of Baisakhi.
Many programmes are scheduled at Gurudwara Naka Hindola where BJP national president Rajnath Singh will participating in the religious programmes.
On Tuesday, cricket player Navjot Singh Siddhu will participate in the prabhat pheri and other religious functions of the gurudwara.
