Maya strikes emotional chord in Bulandshahr
MEERUT/SIKANDRABAD/GHAZIABAD: Striking an emotional chord with the gathering at her rally in Bulandshahar on Saturday, BSP chief Mayawati reminded them that she was daughter of the area and, therefore, they should ensure victory of her party candidates in Bulandshahr and neighbouring Gautam Budh Nagar constituencies.
Mayawati described Bulandshahar as her home, saying “my village Badalpur, which is now in Gautam Budh Nagar, was earlier part of Bulandshahr.”
BSP has fielded Pradeep Jatav on reserve seat of Bulandshahr and Satish Awana on neighbouring seat of Gautam Budh Nagar.
Equating her tenure in the state with that of the ruling Samajwadi Party, she said: “We ensured rule of law and never allowed communal forces to get stronger. No communal riots occurred in my rule and I took care of the welfare of every caste and community.”
She assured the people of completing the unfinished developmental projects and other tasks if her party came to power.
“I supported the issue of a separate bench of high court in western UP, sent a proposal for formation of Harit Pradesh for inhabitants of western UP and pushed many developmental works, including construction of various roads and international airport in Jewar,” she reminded the gathering while seeking votes for her party.
Meanwhile, the BSP chief also held two back-to-back rallies in Greater Noida and Ghaziabad —taking on the Congress and the BJP, and trying to consolidate her ‘sarv-samaj’ vote bank comprising Dalits, Muslims, Brahmins, Sikhs and other communities.
