NAMO, NAIDU TO SHARE STAGE

NEW DELHI: The BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi will share stage with Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrabab­u Naidu at a youth convention here on October 2.

Students from across the country will share with leaders from all major political parties the challenges facing India that should find place in the agenda for the 2014 polls.

This will be the first time Modi and Naidu will be seen together. The two parties have recently held talks and there is speculatio­n that the TDP may be willing to return to the NDA ahead of the next year’s general elections.

ing address and Naidu has been invited to make the opening speech at the convention, which will be held at Tygaraj Sports Complex here. This is the first time Modi and Naidu will be seen together after recent parleys between two parties that indicated the TDP was getting closer to BJP and might even consider joining the NDA to fight the elections together.

The convention will also see a panel discussion involving Congress MP Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Trinamool Congress MP Dinesh Trivedi, CPI(M) central committee member Nilotpal Basu, Shiv Sena spokespers­on Rahul Narvekar and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Balwant Singh Ramoowalia.

Ipsita Nayak, CAG member, said that as part of an initiative to strengthen accountabl­e governance, Manthan encouraged college students to come up with innovative solutions to 14 themes recognised as some of thecritica­l challenges that India faces today.
