IPL FOUNDER SAYS IT WILL NOT STOP HIM>

The BCCI may have taken little time in Wednesday’s meeting to ban him, but Lalit Modi put on a brave face, insisting he now had a free hand to expose the Board administration.

“Ban on me as predicted. Like I said not perturbed about it. Rather happy not to be sitting on the same table as facilitators of march (match) fixing,” he tweeted.

“Only time will show I am right. I have no reason to be remorse about this as I got to live and create my dream. Ban not going to stop me.”

Although Modi’s functioning has also been blamed for T20 league IPL losing its glitzy image and plunging into controversies, the man in self-imposed exile in London sought to portray himself as a pioneering sports administrator rather than someone who faced serious charges.

“Corruption has gone down to the core. All five south members have aligned themselves with (BCCI president) Srinivasan. He himself is a big liability to cricket,” he told a TV channel. “In one way, I’m happy, I can now openly go after them.”

Modi vowed to fight his ban but indicated he planned to launch another mega league, without giving any detail.

“I will come out right in this, I have not taken a penny,” he said, accusing Srinivasan of causing losses to BCCI running into millions of dollars.

“I don’t know whether I will return to BCCI. If there are like-minded people, I may come back.”

Although the resolution to ban him was unanimous, Modi claimed he still had support within the BCCI that would come into the open at the appropriate time.
