Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with the CEOs of 17 global energy companies, with a focus on harnessing opportunities in oil and gas sectors to address India’s growing energy needs.

Addressing the “Howdy, Modi!” community outreach event at the NRG Stadium alongside US President Donald Trump, the Prime Minister called for a “decisive battle” against terrorism and those supporting it. He called on the US to make the most of opportunities offered by his government’s plans to make India a $5-trillion economy in five years.
“Be it 9/11 in America or 26/11 in Mumbai, where can the conspirators be found? The time has come for a decisive battle to be fought against terrorism and those backing it.”

The PM took part in the UN Global Climate Action Summit and urged the international community to act immediately on climate change.
“We must accept that if we have to overcome a serious challenge like climate change, then what we are doing at the moment is just not enough. The time for talking is over. The world needs to act now…”
Addressing a high-level meeting on Universal Health Coverage, the PM said his government has taken historic steps to ensure affordable health for all.
Modi told a leaders’ dialogue on responses to terror and violent extremism that terrorists shouldn’t be allowed to get funds and arms.
