The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has suspended a sub inspector and a constable after an initial investigation suggested their involvement in assaulting a Delhi-based doctor at Shahdara Metro station on Saturday morning.

Lakshay Beriwal, a doctor with Lok Nayak hospital had filed a police complaint and posted on the social media, following which an FIR was filed.

CISF had refuted his allegations and said the passenger misbehaved with security personnel and even gave a written apology before leaving the station.

“A detailed enquiry is being conducted by a senior officer in the matter to find out the exact details of the incident. CISF is a sensitive and responsible force and we expect our staff to behave as per the rules in all circumstances,” said a CISF officer.

“As per the practice, any passenger who misbehaves is taken to the DMRC control room so that they can be penalized. In this case, the staff took the passenger to the CISF’s CCTV control room, which suggests their involvement in the incident,” the officer added.

The doctor had alleged that a CISF official caught him by collar and dragged him to the remand room. He alleged that two-three persons beat him with a wooden stick.

According to the doctor’s complaint, the incident took place at 8.45 pm at Shahdara Metro station.

He had claimed that a CISF official abused him for keeping his bag on the wrong table before putting it in the baggage scanner.

A few days ago, a CISF official had to open fire at Azadpur Metro station when some people attacked him.
