This weekend, Delhiites can immerse themselves in all things pop culture. Tingle your fascination with comics, cosplay, gaming, artists and merchandise as Comic Con India returns after nearly a two-year hiatus.

Amid the chance to let loose in the universes of Marvel, DC and anime, the 10th edition of this muchloved event will also witness some celeb presence. Among these will be actor Adil Hussain, who starred in the third season of American TV show Star Trek: Discovery. “Comics are a very interesting way to connect with the imagination of people and humanity,” shares Hussain. Besides this, attendees can engage in conversations with global comic artists such as Rick Leonardi, who has worked on several series including Thor, Spider-Man, Batman and Birds of Prey.

Yusuf Mani, aka Jade Nebula, is aiming to make the crossplayer category popular at this edition of the event: “Crossplayers are when a boy or a girl dresses up as the opposite gender character.”

Another trend that’s growing in popularity is Japanese anime cosplay.*

Vipin Aryan, a Delhi-based artist and cosplayer, expresses his love for dressing up as characters from Attack on Titan :“I started cosplaying in 2014 and took it up as a hobby. It’s been five days since I’ve been preparing for the event.”

Jatin Verma, founder of the event, informs, “This time, we will also have a virtual session to pay homage to mythology. It will have authors Amish Tripathi, Anand Neelakantan, and Kevin Missal. We’ll also have comedian Zakir Khan perform a special set.”
