The jury comprising Gagandeep Sharma, Manager and Branch Head, Noida Branch, Federal Bank and Kashyap Kapoor, Manager, Marketing, HT Media Ltd, scored students on the substance and delivery of speech.

Kashyap Kapoor, Manager, Marketing, HT Media said, “Seeing so many passionate young students on a Thursday morning, made me go back to my college days. Be it any topic, all students had made themselves ready to the best of their capabilities. Watching some overcome their stage fear or putting their thoughts in the right words, the Speak For India initiative by Federal Bank in association with Hindustan Times and Hindustan, brought a small and positive change in every child. And that’s the biggest victory for a judge to witness live. And not to forget, the unity and respect among participants for each other brought out unique happiness and enjoyment.”

With their precise arguments, powerful delivery, and confidence on stage, the students at Daulat Ram College took the competition a notch higher.

Dr Inder Jain, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Dr Shachi Chawla, Convener of the Debating Society from Daulat Ram College welcomed and felicitated the jury members. Over 70 students took the stage to showcase their skills.

“The audition rounds of Speak For India organised by Federal

Bank and Hindustan Times was a great learning experience for students in our college. The competition hosted more than 40 participants and provided them all with a platform to discuss relevant socio-political issues in society today. The competition witnessed freshly brewed points on these extremely relevant and talked about issues in the country and in the world as a whole. The participants as well as the audience left with more information, more informed opinions, and more razor-sharp arguments to substantiate their case over important issues, post the event,” said Priyanshi Sharma, President of the debating society, Daulat Ram College.

Megha Kapoor, Senior Manager and Branch Head, Federal Bank, Hauz Khas, New Delhi and Arun Kumar, Theatre actor and former All India Radio News Jockey, judged and shortlisted participants for the next round.

Selected students from the audition rounds will move on to the zonals, semi-final and final rounds of the competition.
