2 killed, 1 injured after car rams truck in G Noida

NOIDA: Two men died and another was critically injured when the car they were travelling in rammed a truck in Dankaur area of Greater Noida early on Saturday.

The incident took place around 1.30am when the trio was travelling from New Delhi to Budaun.

The deceased have been identified as Ashu Chauhan, 30, and Suneel Kumar. The injured man has been identified as Vineet, 32. They are all residents of Badaun.

The trio used to work as cash collection agents for a beverage firm in Uttar Pradesh. They had gone to Delhi on Friday to collect money from some liquor vends, police added.

“The three men were travelling in a Hyundai i10 which rammed into a stationary truck on Dankaur- Sikandraba­d road. They were driving over the speed limit; the collision has damaged the car completely. The driver and co-driver died on the spot,” said Dankaur Station house officer Framood Ali Pundeer.

The accident was reported by passersby who spotted the damaged car. They called the police control room, following which a patrol party visited the spot and three men were taken to Kailash Hospital.

Ashu and Suneel were declared brought dead at the hospital, while Vineet was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Vineet who suffered multiple injuries, including injuries to the head, was shifted to the general ward on Saturday afternoon after his condition improved.
