Consecrate all negativity in the fire during Holika Dahan
Just the way Narasimha saved Prahlad from his evil father Hiranakashyap, the festival of Holi can save us from ourselves. Holi is an opportunity to reboot: Consecrate all negativity in the fire during Holika Dahan, which is held an evening before the festival, and meditate through the night, soaking in the powerful energies visiting the Earth. If this way of purging your negativity does not work for you, you have the next day to paint the town red, blue, black or any other colour. This is the day when people will be most receptive to letting go of grudges and resentment and you must do your bit to avoid perpetuating the cycle further. There may not be a better opportunity to interact with everyone around you, no matter their social standing. This is because everyone’s face and clothes will get dirty, the distinctions of caste and creed will be less visible.
It is a chance to start afresh, with everyone else and yourself. It has been found that most diseases are psychosomatic, meaning the problems in the physical body come from the mental and emotional aspects. Holi can be the day of catharsis where you can experience for yourself the peace that follows; get a glimpse of the well-being that becomes accessible once a mental and emotional unburdening happens.
Once you experience that, maybe you find adequate motivation to keep addressing your day-to-day issues without letting them pile up to an extent that they begin to manifest as diseases.
