HRERA to be functional by next month
CM ANNOUNCES TO SET UP COMMISSION TO HEAR AND SOLVE DISPUTES OF COOPERATIVE GROUP HOUSING SOCIETIES
GURGAON: Members of the muchawaited Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (HRERA) would be appointed by October 31 and the body will be functional by the beginning of the next month. This was announced on Sunday by Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar, who was hearing complaints at the first Janta Darbar held in Gurgaon at John Hall in Civil Lines.
Khattar told a number of aggrieved buyers, who had come to lodge complaints against the developers in various parts of Gurgaon, that their issues would be resolved in a systematic manner by the authority. “We will ensure that the authority becomes functional from next month and hear complaints against developers. Appropriate action will be taken under HRERA, as the act is meant to streamline the real estate sector. One can file a complaint even if the developer is no registered under RERA,” he said.
The CM on Sunday heard around 50 complaints out of the 300 registered by the district administration, and directed that the rest be submitted to the DC, Gurgaon, who will file a report within 10 days.
Khattar also announced the setting up of commission to hear and solve all disputes of cooperative group housing societies, while hearing complaint raised by members of Sunehara-apna Ghar cooperative society. “There are 25 cooperative societies in Gurgaon and majority of
these have disputes and irregularities and this commission would resolve them,” he added.

Over two hundred Gurgaon residents, who had come to meet chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar at Sunday’s Janta Darbar seeking speedy redressal of their grievances got agitated and held a protest at the venue around 1pm after they came to know that CM would be leaving soon.
People started shouting slogans and erupted in protest after which the darbar was extended for over half an hour.
