Farmers, industrialists should work in tandem: Soni
AMRITSAR: Reinforcing upon the relation between the farmers and industrialists, Punjab food processing minister OP Soni said, the problems related to unemployment and agricultural can be solved if the two collaborate.
Soni in an award ceremony at PITEX-2018 (Punjab International Trade Expo) Sunday said, “Presently, the food processing field is important and safe for farmers .there are immense possibilities in the sector across Punjab and border districts.”
PITEX exhibitors from different countries and states were honoured at the ceremony by OP Soni.
Best international participation award went to Tillo Hediyelik. The best outdoor display award was given to Sonalika and best indoor display award to Kajaria Tiles.
Other awardees included most footfall award in outdoor was given to Maruti, and the highest footfall award in indoor to ITC Frozen Foods.
Uttarakhand Handloom and Handicraft Development Council, Directorate of Handicrafts, Jammu-kashmir government, National Small Industries Corporation Limited (NSIC), ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises, National Jute Board, AYUSH ministry were honoured with a special award.
Meanwhile, Punjab government’s PEDA, PSIEC, KVIC, Markfed, Milkfed were also honoured during the ceremony.
RAISING AWARENESS FOR ORGAN DONATION
PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) organised a walkathon to spread awareness about organ donation, here Sunday.
As many as 300 people started the walk from the Company Bagh in city.
The rally was flagged off by additional deputy commissioner (ADC), Amritsar, Ravinder Singh.
PHDCCI, Punjab, chairman RS Sachdeva underlined the need for educating the masses to donate organs to help save lives.
He said, “There is no better service than serving the underprivileged section of the society.”
