Punjab ADGPs Varinder Kumar, Anita Punj to get President’s Police medal
CHANDIGARH: Additional director general of police (ADGP-intelligence) Varinder Kumar and ADGP-cum-director Punjab Police Academy, Phillaur, Anita Punj will be conferred with President’s Police Medal for distinguished service on the occasion of Independence Day. Thirteen more police officers and officials have been selected for police medals for meritorious services.
Disclosing this, a spokesperson of Punjab Police said joint director internal vigilance cell, vigilance bureau Kanwaldeep Singh, AIG (vigilance bureau) SAS Nagar, Hargobind Singh and SP Punjab Bureau of Investigation and Narcotics, Muktsar Kulwant Rai will be awarded police medals for meritorious services.
The spokesperson said Inspector Vigilance Bureau headquarter SAS Nagar, Inder Pal Singh Hothi; Inspector provisioning wing Lakwinder Singh, Inspector, incharge CIA staff, Jalandhar Rural, Shiv Kumar, inspector 80th Battalion, PAP Jalandhar, Kamaljit; Sub-Inspector, PAP Armed Battalion Jalandhar, Kuldeep Singh, SubInspector 7th Battalion, PAP Jalandhar, Jasvir Singh sub-inspector operational staff, Bathinda, Harbhajan Lal, ASI Recruit Training Centre, PAP Jalandhar, Boota Singh; ASI, police control room technical service commissionerate Jalandhar, Sukhdev Singh, and ASI special branch commissionerate, Ludhiana, Harpal Singh have also been chosen for police medal for meritorious services on the occasion of Independence Day. ASI Swaran Singh has been selected for chief minister’s Rakshak Padak.
Besides, others who are recipients of the chief minister’s medal for outstanding devotion to duty are SSP Barnala, Sandeep Goel; Commandant 13th Battalion PAP Balwant Kaur; DSP (PBI) Special Crime Moga, Sukhwinder Singh; DSP (SD) Fazilka, Jagdish Kumar; Inspector of Intelligence Wing, Bupinder Singh, In-charge CIA Barnala, Baljit Singh; In-charge CIA HQ Ferozepur Kaur Singh, Inspector Police Station Mataur, SASNagar Rajiv Kumar, sub-inspector (LR), intelligence wing Sukhbir Singh and Inspector Neeraj Kumar 432/BR.
Meanwhile, deputy commandant general, Punjab Home Guards and Civil Defence, Harmanjeet Singh will receive President’s Home Guards & Civil Defence Medal for distinguished service on .
7 HOME GUARDS TO GET MEDAL
A spokesperson said seven more personnel of the Punjab Home Guards will also got Home Guards and Civil Defense Medal for meritorious services.
These officials are JSO (CD) Gurinder Pal Singh, District Commander (HG) Anil Kumar, District Commander (HG) Rajender Krishan, Senior Assistant (HG & CD) Sukhnandan Kaur, Platoon Commander (HG & CD) Nirmal Singh, Chief Warden (CD) Gurcharan Singh, Platoon Commander (HG) Rachhpal Singh.
