SIX BOOKED FOR COW SLAUGHTER IN Y’NAGAR

YAMUNANAGA­R: The Yamunanaga­r police have booked six people under the cow slaughter act, for allegedly killing a cow and chopping its body into small pieces for transporta­tion in Nagal Patti village of Khizrabad block of Yamunanaga­r district.

The accused have been identified as Aliyas Khan, his wife Javaida, Bindu, Naseem, Saini and Nawab—all residents of Nagal Patti village. The police have also recovered pieces of meat, which they claimed to have been confirmed to be beef by a veterinary doctor, from the spot during the raid. The accused, however, managed to flee.

Talking to Hindustan Times, Khizrabad police station in-charge Ajit Kumar said the police had got a tip-off that some people were involved in cow slaughter.

“Upon conducting a raid, we recovered pieces of beef and called a local veterinary doctor Rohit Saini, who said that recovered meat appears to be beef. Six people have been booked and investigat­ion is underway,” the police in-charge said.

He said samples of the meat have also been sent to a laboratory in Hisar for confirmati­on.
