: A minor girl from Rohtak has sent an anonymous letter to Women Police Station, Rohtak, alleging that she was raped and blackmailed by two men at gunpoint.

In the letter dated May 11, the victim described her age as 17 and said she was raped by two men at World Cafe on Chottu Ram Chowk in the district on March 28.

She said the two men also filmed the act and were now blackmailing her.

The police said while full details of the accused were mentioned in the letter, the victim did not mention her complete address of Shivaji Colony, due to which they have not been able to trace her despite repeated attempts.

The police said they lodged a case under Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Arms Act against the two accused on day they received the letter.

“The two men—one from Janta Colony and the other from Sunariya village—were made to join the investigation but they denied the charge. They were not arrested since there was no proof against them. The victim has not come forward to record her statement under section 164 or for her medical,” a police officer said.

The police have appealed through media to the victim to come forward so they could proceed with the investigation.

The alleged incident comes close on the heels of a horrific gang-rape of a 20-year-old Sonepat woman, who, after the gangrape, was murdered by her jilted lover and his friend for refusing his marriage proposal.

THE GIRL, IN HER ANONYMOUS LETTER, SAID THAT ACCUSED HAD FILMED THE ACT AND WERE NOW BLACKMAILING HER
