DMK govt looting funds given by Centre, charges PM Modi at Salem conference

-

COIMBATORE: Prime Minister Narendra Modi continued his tirade against DMK and Congress, by terming both the parties as two sides of the same coin and vowed to take stringent action against corruption in the next five years.

Addressing a massive public meeting in Salem on Tuesday, by sharing the dais with leaders of alliance parties, Modi termed one side of the coin as corruption and the other dynasty politics.

“The 5G technology came after Congress was sent home. And, the DMK involved in the 2G scam found a new concept for 5G, which is to bring their fifth generation to power,” he said.

Accusing the DMK government of looting funds given by the Centre to implement development schemes in Tamil Nadu, Modi said the next five years are pivotal for the growth of the nation.

“One day isn’t sufficient to speak on corruption by DMK and Congress. Stringent action will be taken against corruption,” the PM said.

Launching a further blistering attack on DMK and Congress for ‘insulting’ Hinduism, Modi, referring to ‘Shakti’ remark by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, said the INDIA bloc parties are trying to destroy ‘Hindu Shakti.’ “The opposition front, which has set out to destroy ‘Shakti’ and Sanatana Dharma will eventually get eradicated. Their end will begin on April 19 (polling date). The DMK and Congress never missed an opportunity to humiliate the Hindu religion, but did not utter a word on other religions. How could we tolerate this? he asked.

Promising to roll out more welfare schemes for women, Modi took a dig at DMK for insulting women. “TN was a witness to it as former chief minister J Jayalalithaa was insulted when she was alive. They were also opposed to bringing a women reservation bill,” he said while adding that crimes against women have become rampant.

Recalling the murder of BJP’s state general secretary ‘Auditor’ V Ramesh, who was killed in 2013 in Salem, Prime Minister Modi became emotional and said “He was a hard worker, but murdered by anti-socials.”
