TNPSC shakes off pandemic blues, to resume recruitments
CHENNAI: As the recruitment works came to a standstill in the state due to the spread of the second wave of coronavirus, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is all set to start its enlisting process soon.
Though the state-recruitment agency has issued notification for the recruitment of various posts in the government offices, exams and other related activities could not take place due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and subsequent lockdowns.
The TNPSC has been postponing and re-scheduling its recruitment process since the first lockdown in 2020. Accordingly, the re-scheduling was extended even during the spread of coronavirus in the second wave.
TNPSC sources here said since the number of coronavirus cases has come down drastically during the last week, it has been decided to start the pending recruitment activities.
Accordingly, to start with, the recruitment process for motor vehicle inspectors by conducting the direct interview for the candidates will begin from July 19 against the original schedule of June 11. More than 200 selected candidates are expected to participate in the interview to fill the existing vacant post of motor vehicle inspectors. The date and time of the interview for the eligible candidates will be intimated through SMS.
Similarly, the departmental exams will also be held from August 16 against the original schedule of June 22. However, the results pertaining to 14 departmental tests examinations held in December 2020 which were not published earlier, will be published on July 20.
For the benefit of the candidates applying for departmental test examinations, May 2021, the last date for applying online is extended up to July 31.
Further, the TNPSC is reviewing to conduct all its pending exams, which were indefinitely postponed due to lockdown. Accordingly, notification in this regard will be issued from time to time.
