KTR unveils TS’ first EV park
TS govt policies helping Zaheerabad emerge as EV hub: Rama Rao
RAMA RAO also rolled out Mahindra’s 3,00,000th Telanganamade tractor from its manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad.
Industries minister K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday launched Telangana’s first plug-and-play EV Park and two and threewheeler electric vehicles produced by Vayu Motors and Zero 21 at an event held at MG Automotive’s EV Park in Zaheerabad.
Rama Rao said the future of world transportation would be sustainable mobility and it would be EV mobility. The difference between conventional vehicles and electric vehicles was that EVs were computers on wheels while others were battery-driven, he said. “The automobile industry in the past was located in a few pockets like Chennai and Pune. With the help of the Telangana government’s futuristic EV policy, Zaheerabad is emerging as the hub for not just automobiles but also EVs. Keeping this in
● mind and the demand for a skilled workforce, we will establish an automobile-centric centre of excellence which will be named after former President of India Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam,” Rama Rao stated.
Later, Rama Rao rolled out Mahindra’s 3,00,000th Telangana-made tractor from its manufacturing plant in Zaheerabad.
He said, “The government of Telangana is very proud of what the
Mahindra Group has been able to achieve in the state, through the roll-out of its 3,00,000 tractors. With Mahindra’s large presence in Zaheerabad, the company’s manufacturing facility has provided opportunities to thousands of people, in not only making products for the domestic market, but also positioning Telangana as one of the largest tractor export hubs, based on Mahindra’s world-class manufacturing facilities. As we move along, we look forward to Mahindra’s next milestone in tractor production in the next few years.”
