REGISTER AFRESH FOR MANIPUR ISC

Indian Science Congress would now be held at Manipur University in March. The decision was taken at the emergency executive committee meeting of Indian Science Congress Association in Kolkata.

According to the Association, members interested in participating in the congress need to make fresh registrations. Around 13,000 members registered for the up to December 15 and `2.6 crore was collected by OU for registration.

Advance registrations were made as the organising committee did not allow spot ones. The congress was scheduled from January 3 to 7 in Osmania University Hyderabad and was expected to have around 20,000 delegates. Varsity administration was yet to decide on how to tackle with the expenditure for advance flight bookings by 13,000 delegates and speakers.

“Members interested to participate in the 105th Indian Science Congress at Manipur will have to take up fresh registration. The registration and accommodation fees submitted to Osmania University will be refunded directly to the persons concerned,” the association said. Osmania Registrar Gopal Reddy said they are still planning on how to reimburse the flight bookings by the delegates and members.
