Police arrests notorious criminal and his aide

He was last released from prison in January

Cyberabad police arrested a notorious known criminal in Rajendrana­gar on Saturday who committed 11 thefts in the last six months.

Police said Mohammed Ghouse Pasha alias Khooni Ghouse was sent away to Mumbai on Jamaat (a tour of mosques for reformatio­n of the individual concerned) after his release from prison. But he came back and started thefts again. He spent the money earned from thefts on call girls in Mumbai. Police also arrested his associate and recovered valuables worth `4 lakh.

Ghouse started his criminal career after stopping schooling in Class VII. He started working as a labourer, got addicted to bad habits and started thefts to fund them. He was arrested for the first time in 2011 in a theft case in Rajendrana­gar where he broke into a house and stole cash and jewellery.

Ghouse was sent to an observatio­n home. He was convicted and sentenced to simple imprisonme­nt of five months. After coming out, he started thefts again.

Police said Ghouse stole `4.5 lakh in Langar Houz and was jailed. After release, he committed thefts again in Kalapathar and Bahadurpur­a and was jailed again. He was last released from prison in January 2017.

“After his release on bail, community elders sent him on a Jamaat to Mumbai, but there he started visiting call girls,” Rajendrana­gar ACP K. Gangareddy said. In the last six months, he committed 10 thefts in Rajendrana­gar and one in Langar Houz.

One Kummari Krishna, a realtor helped Ghouse in stealing a bike. Police arrested the duo on Saturday. Both were remanded to custody.
