Three arrested for alleged rapist Rajesh’s murder

- DC CORRESPONDENT

Three days after the murder of rape suspect Gunti Rajesh in Adibhatla, police detained three persons, including Shyam Sunder Reddy, the father of the girl who was allegedly raped by Rajesh. The girl, whom Rajesh duped by promising marriage, later committed suicide after knowing that Rajesh was already married.

Police found that Shyam Sunder Reddy hired three persons, including two from AP, to execute his plan. After Rajesh's brutal murder on Monday night while he was coming out of a bar, police set up special teams to nab the suspects.

Though the incident was recorded on CCTVs at the bar, the images were not clear, and Shyam Sunder Reddy's absence from home increased suspicion about his role in the incident. Police kept a watch on his movements, and on Thursday nabbed him and his three associates while they were moving in a car near Wonder La theme park.

Meanwhile, Shyam Sunder Reddy said that Rajesh deserved death, as he had spoiled his daughter's life and forced her to commit suicide. He said Rajesh was responsible for the ruin of many innocent women.

With this, people who play with the lives of innocent girls will learn a lesson, he said.

Meanwhile, Rajesh’s mother Gunti Shankaramma said that Rajesh did not kidnap Shyam Sunder Reddy's daughter and that she herself went with him.

She said that Shyam Sunder Reddy had attacked Rajesh on many occasions earlier, and had threatened to kill him.

Police is yet to announce the arrest formally.
