EX-CM’S SON ACCUSES WIFE OF TORTURE

- AKSHAYA KUMAR SAHOO | DC BHUBANESWAR, OCT. 1

Sishir Gamang, son of former Odisha Chief Minister Giridhar Gamang, on Saturday charged his wife with harassment, torture of their minor son and an extra-marital affair.

At a press conference here, Sishir said that his wife Monica Gamang mentally and physically tortured their 10-yearold son. Moreover, he alleged that Monica had fled with cash worth `5 lakh and ornaments worth `2.3 crore.

While charging his wife with having an extra-marital affair, Sishir said that Monica had married a person named Gaurav Barar without his knowledge.

Sishir and Monica got married in 2003 after a love affair. However, they got divorced in 2012 without the knowledge of their family members. After their family members came to know of their separation, they remarried in 2014.

However, one year into their remarriage, Monica started torturing him and his 10-yearold son, alleged Sishir, adding that he came to know about his wife’s extra-marital affair one year after their remarriage.

“The torture of my son started from the age of 9. Monica’s behaviour suddenly changed after remarriage but I came to know about the truth much later. I want justice for my son,” he said.

Sishir also informed that he had filed a police complaint with Bhubanswar police demanding security for himself and his son.

While reacting to Sishir’s allegations, Monica said: “After the divorce, I have remarried. I have all the proof and will present it before the court. The truth will come out after probe.”
