ISO is an independen­t, non-government­al, internatio­nal organizati­on that develops standards to ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of products, services, and systems.

ISO certificat­ions exist in various areas of industry, ranging from energy management and social responsibi­lity, to medical devices and energy management. ISO standards seek to ensure consistenc­y and each certificat­ion has separate standards and criteria and is classified numericall­y.

Following on the realisatio­n of its milestone, GCS says that it was seeking to encourage other local businesses to engage it on the matter of addressing their ISO Certificat­ion needs.

GCS is an Internatio­nal ISO Certificat­ion Body & Registrar headquarte­red in Geneva Switzerlan­d. GCS is a leading ISO Management Systems Registrar in Europe with an operationa­l office in the United States, Canada, Trinidad, and Guyana.

The Operationa­l Office of the GCS in Guyana is headed by Quality Standards and Conformity Assessment Expert Candelle Bostwick, a former Executive Director of the Guyana National Bureau of Standards, the local entity responsibl­e for regulating and monitoring the accuracy of weighing and measuring devices used in trade as specified in the Weights and Measures Act of 1981.
