Mastering potholes

POTHOLES that are patched up during road maintenance are again damaged during rain and unfavourable weather conditions. The same cycle continues, repair/damage/repair.

Wouldn’t it be nice if potholes can be repaired in such a way that it remains undamaged irrespective of rains and unfavourable weather. Let’s hope relevant authorities come up with ideas and expertise to solve the above mentioned.

Rigged at the post

I THOUGHT I would just let it go, but after reading about the concerns raised by Sukha Singh (FT 7/7) and Jackson Mar (FT 8/7), I might as well mention that a while back I had sent a box of consumables from Fiji Post’s Namaka outlet to one of the outer islands. I paid for air freight but the parcel got delivered by sea. By the time the item was finally received at the other end, the contents had transformed into something else. Cooking oil had seeped into the box. When I now analyse the situation, I have to concede that the system is rigged. SAMU RAILOA

Nine more

WITH the support of nine former FijiFirst members for the PM and his government, I believe the right thing for the PM to do is create nine more ministries for these newfound supporters. He can make a couple more deputy PMs in the process. That way everyone will be happy, and Fiji will boom even more with the newfound unity and the extra nine pairs of hands in government. I have always maintained, the people of Fiji are truly blessed because God has given them this gift. JAN NISSAR

WISE words from Daniel Fatiaki (FT 9/07) regarding the structure of the Fijian voting system. I would only take issue with his choice of words to “amend the constitution”. It needs to be scrapped and replaced, not amended. Perhaps the Ghai constitution, if any of the 600 copies were saved from the fire, might be a starting point.

No cashier

SUPERMARKET was opened but business could not convene because there was no cashier.

In another organisation, payments cannot be accepted because the cashier knocks off at 3.30pm while the notice on the door indicates 4pm on a Friday afternoon.
