Ten finalists chosen
Domo Vou Talei contest
JUDGES in the Domo Vou Talei song contest have agreed on the 10 finalists in the original song competition.
They are Amos Simpson from Savusavu with his rock/blues ballad titled ‘Crazy In Love’, V5, a band of four Suva students - Jasmine Daunakamakama, Lia Daunakamakama, William Sanday and Sevu – with ‘Mango Tree’ and Titilia Mua Lacanivalu from Suva with her song ‘Mountain
Spice’.
The list also includes west-siders Jerome Tauleka with ‘Au Nanumi Iko’ and Lautoka rapper Peni Roqara who goes by the stage name Ju Ben with ‘Kidava’.
Grace Vuata from Suva also made the final cut with ‘Wish for the Rain’, Joycelyn Karawa who goes by the stage name Part PoMel got in with ‘You’ and Caleb Fatiaki aka Lepi from Suva with ‘Losing’.
Nadi student Kaylia Duikete made it with her song ‘Memories’ and Sarah Blake, also from Nadi, got in with her tune ‘To Love And Be Loved’.
This week the 10 finalists will travel to Suva to be mentored by Sunia Soko Loga, the Fijian singing sensation that recently won the prestigious Korean Immortal Songs competition this year with his rendition of Isa Lei. They will also be mentored by Laisa ‘Vude Queen’ Vulakoro and other living legends from the Fiji Performing Rights Association.
