POST Fiji Ltd (PFL) announced its 3 per cent bonus payout of $82,748.56 which would be paid out to staff for the period of January 2020 to June 2020.
The payout was approved by PFL chairman Mr Lawrence Tikaram, board directors and Minister for Economy Aiyaz SayedKhaiyum.
At a press conference yesterday PFL chief executive officer Dr Anirudha Bansod said the performance of the staff had been a major contributor to the success of PFL and was happy the company received extra money especially at a time when people are struggling as living costs skyrocket.
“This additional bonus amount is a good cash injection for all the staff and management team who worked tirelessly during a tough financial time and as a result they need to be recognized for their contribution,” he said.
“During the six month bonus period COVID-19 brought about a few setbacks as there was a decline in mails and parcel and overall postal business and other international services like registered parcel and E-packets.
“However, the company continued to operate business in the normal manner with no redundancies and all staff employed at full pay by giving the postal services to community in Fiji.”
PFL chairman Mr Tikaram further acknowledged the hard work of the staff during the 20202021 financial year.
He said the bonus payout would be the last one since the performance measurement system (PMS) of measuring staff performance was implemented in July 2020 henceforth the performance is currently being measured by the job description and key performance indicators (PKI) matrix.
The PMS has been introduced with the objective of turning PFL to achieve sustainable profits and rewards and higher incentives to those who deliver better results, productivity and efficient work.
A total of 301 staff employees will benefit from this payout.
