Contrasting perspectives
I REFER to two letters from the Australian writer published (FT) this week who has been relentless on a handful of issues.
Praying and fasting, grog swipers, attacking Opposition parties, defending government and belittling 7s rugby and common Fijians.
My observations conclude that he has a specific political agenda which he continuously paints with subjects to create a diversion.
In my view, other contributors to this column possess a passion for reading and writing. Some may have other motivational factors but I think, the core inspiration comes from the everyday issues which affect people on the ground.
These material issues are not necessarily confined to personal parameters but which extends to the community, national and beyond.
On Monday (12/07), he praised Fiji for the performance against the All Blacks. He added that they (the players) can hold their heads high up and wished the best for the second Test.
On Wednesday (14/07), he alleges that players have a political agenda against the Government and those players should not be allowed to play for Fiji.
After best wishes, comes a shameless U-turn.
While the rest of us wait for another cracker this weekend, he wants the next Test to be called off.
Such contrasting perspectives, it appears that the mentioned letters have been written by two different personalities. I believe the first is a fan of Flying Fijians. The second, a delusional and self-serving politician.
