Tourism roadshow in Japan
TOURISM Fiji hosted a Japan roadshow in Tokyo from February 19-21.
A statement from Tourism Fiji highlighted that it was considered one of the largest roadshows Tourism Fiji had ever hosted, where 20 partners attended the event with about 30 products showcased.
“The roadshow was divided into workshops, seminars, one-on-one appointments and was attended by frontliners, product planners and media to raise the profile of the destination in Japan,” the statement read.
“It was further divided into targeted niche markets which included Free Independent Traveller (FIT) and family travellers, weddings, honeymooners, barefoot luxury, group and Niche Travel Group. Tourism Fiji’s regional manager Asia Kathy Koyamaibole led the team in Japan last week and said it was a great opportunity to strengthen and educate Japan’s travel trade partners about the destination offerings.
“Since the launch of direct flights from Narita, we’ve invested significantly into establishing strategic partnerships with our travel trade partners to not only drive visitor arrivals to Fiji, but also yield.
“This roadshow is key in establishing and strengthening partnerships with our strategic partners, while also aligning with Japan’s core contracting periods. Fiji’s industry partners attested to the value of business derived from the roadshow and are enthusiastic in fulfilling this roadshow that will showcase their products while the agents are in Fiji.”
