Frank Lomani’s story

-

I SAW on social media a clip from FBC on the story of our Flying Fijian Frank Lomani.

A brief of that story entails how he started from humble beginnings in the village of Nukubalavu in Savusavu, but one thing that caught my attention was his dream of not only donning the white jumper but getting a rugby contract overseas as is the dream of every young Fijian rugger to not only play the game they love with the best players in the world but to also earn the big dollars and make life a little easier back at home.

That and also his trust in the Lord, that has been the cornerstone of his career thus far.

So in this day and age amidst all the chaos it is never too late to turn to the Lord for assistance, and in our society where we are trying to promote all types of religion, I say trust in whomever you believe in God, Allah, Rama, Jehovah or a divine being, be true to your faith and it will be true to you.

I write to you about this from my personal experience, I have lived a life full of joy, tribulation and anguish and have survived through it all through the grace of God’s love for me.

A brief of my history would tell you that I was conceived out of wedlock and was brought up by my grandmother, may her soul rest in peace.

Growing up amidst what is now known as abuse but back then we called it teasing at a time when to grow up in society with that kind of stigma you would be destined for the dark and sinister path or even the gallows but through my grandmother’s prayer and faith I did not end up in that situation, sure as I grew older I did walk on the wild side but found my way back, now that is a story for another time.

So fast forward to the present, I was laid off work in July 2018 and had a family to provide for, rent and bills to pay, but I never lost the faith and kept my trust in the

Lord.

Today 2019, we have relocated to Santa Rosa in the USA and I am still in awe of God’s love and mercy.

The moral of my short story is Fiji, if we but trust in the

Lord and continue to be true in our endeavours he will reward you.

So there is hope amidst all this turmoil, don’t give up and continue to trust in the Lord.

On that note I wish Frank and the boys all the best in Japan, and continue to pray for my beloved Fiji.
