Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup 2022

- EFA’s Marketing and Communications Officer

Gday dear reader and praise be to God for the gift of life. Today’s content is based on the Hollywoodbets COSAFA Cup 2022 which is being implemented in Durban, South Africa. Let me first start by congratulating COSAFA for a well-coordinated competition and for providing a platform for the development of players and officials. The people of Durban and the rest of the world are enjoying the best football, as all the national teams are displaying good football. Bravo COSAFA!

OOD SIHLANGU CAMP

Since the arrival of the national team in Durban, all is well in as far as the camp is concerned. The spirit is high among the players. As the national team is made up of both experienced and younger players who are still new in the national team set-up; you can hardly notice that as these players are very much united. The level of discipline is very high. It is a tight schedule for the national team in as far as the programme is concerned. Immediately after the arrival in Durban on Sunday evening, the competition’s programme commenced in as far as the national team is concerned, as the players’ registration was checked which was followed by the arrival meeting.

On a daily basis, the national team’s programme commences at 7am with breakfast, followed by the preparations for training sessions or matches depending on the fixture. In as far as the first match was concerned, it was a good day in the office for the national team as they won against Mauritius by 3-0. With the three goals scored by three different players and having a clean sheet, the performance was spot-on.

Congratulations to Peter Dlamini, Bongwa Matsebula and Leon Manyisa for earning their inaugural full international caps. I hope this is the beginning of great things for these players in as far as their football career is concerned. Peter Dlamini was as solid as a rock in defence, Bongwa looked sharp upfront and Leon Manyisa had splendid touches in the middle of the park, which made some sectors of the crowd to call him ‘Ace’ after the former Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa.
