National play-offs finals Sunday

MBABANE – The best six senior men’s pool national team will be decided on Sunday.

After postponing the finals over a week ago, the Eswatini Cue Sport Associatio­n (ECSA) will finally host the Last 8 finals of the BOAB-sponsored National Championsh­ip Play-offs, a process used for national team selection.

Eight players remain with REPS and Way Inn having more numbers to fight for the national kit in next March’s African Championsh­ips in Zambia.

The ladies senior national team was selected two months ago using the same process which lasted two weekends. BOAB pumped E15 000 into the play-offs

which catered for administra­tive and prize costs for the ladies and men’s divisions.

“Our play-offs are coming to an end on Sunday and we’ll start the first games at 10am at Correction­al Services,” ECSA Secretary Mbongeni ‘Mdlikiza’ Gamedze confirmed.

Fight

He said the finals had the following players to fight for the top six positions in the squad otherwise all of them were now Eswatini’s national squad but the last two on the standings this Sunday after a round-robin of games against the other, will be standby players while the top five are the starting squad and the sixth one a reserve.

The remaining players are Zweli ‘Siziba’ Dlamini, Siyabonga Dlamini, Sithembiso ‘Dodge’ Matsebula, Sibusiso Nhlabatsi, Dumsani ‘Rasta’ Ngidi, Brian Raynor, Sizwe Msibi and Thembinkos­i Nhlabatsi.
