‘Bull’/‘Weslians’ clash moved to Somhlolo

-

The crunch MTN Premier League between Manzini Wanderers and Mbabane Highlanders has been moved to the Somhlolo National Stadium on Saturday.

The match was initially scheduled for the King Sobhuza II Stadium as the initial fixture. The Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) announced the latest updates through an amended fixture released by Football Manager Pat Vilakati. The ‘Weslians’ are in a must-win situation to survive the chop at the country’s football mecca as they are currently perched at position 12 in the log table with 21 points. The capital city giants will be crowned the 2023 /24 league champions if they beat Ezulwini United on Saturday at their new slaughterhouse Mkhuzweni Technical Centre. The Caleb Ngwenya-led side is currently sitting on the summit of the log standings with 49 points after 24 matches five points ahead of secondplaced and defending champions Green Mamba. A victory could end ‘Umkhonto ka Shaka’s’ five-year wait for league glory since the 2018 /19 season during the era of the late coach Thabo ‘Koki’Vilakati. On the other hand, the ‘Stingers’ will be eyeing victory to ease their relegation fears as they are mathematically not safe from the danger with 24 points after the same number of matches. The ‘Correctional Services’ side will host Rangers at Tambankulu Stadium While third-placed Young Buffaloes will host hoodoo side Madlenya FC at Mhlume Stadium.

Other relegation candidates Moneni Pirates and Denver Sundowns will take on Illovo and Nsingizini Hotspurs respectively at Ka Langa Technical Centre and Mayaluka Stadium. Pirates and Sundowns are both sitting in the bottom two of the log standings.
