THE PERFECTIONISTS
Grohe’s Masters of technology work behind the scenes to ensure that you receive the Most superlative, water-saving products
The faucet is a practical object that has a single purpose: to deliver water. We use it frequently, on a daily basis, and think nothing more of it – unless it does not function well, or, in the case of a GROHE faucet, excels expectations by giving the humble device aesthetic and tactile appeal, and extraordinary functionalities that utilise the most up-to-date technologies. This is not surprising, as the German brand has had 140 years of practice in crafting high quality, efficient and eco-friendly sanitary products.
What may be of surprise, though, is the myriad steps that go into creating a faucet, from its design and procuring the raw materials, alloys and parts, to polishing, testing and distribution. Each step is closely monitored by GROHE’s Masters of Technology – the staff who have grown with the company and who are dedicated to making the best products.
“Our success originates from the people,” says Thomas Fuhr, GROHE’s COO and Executive Director of Operations. “At GROHE, we emphasise teamwork and communication, for they are the ingredients that build trust and success.” He also points out that the knowledge acquired by today’s Masters of Technology has been passed down for generations, and that this will continue. “At our Lahr factory, for example, over 650 staff members have been serving GROHE for more than 20 years, and they are still hard at work, striving for excellence day after day.”
The quality of GROHE’s products is reflected by GROHE’s “Made in Germany” label and its legendary quality control. If a faucet has a scratch that is longer than 10mm or two within 40mm of each other then it is recalled and recast, so that only products of the highest standard reach customers. The fact that GROHE has its own foundry and alloy formula makes monitoring quality, as well as enhancing production efficiency, lowering costs and saving energy all the more beneficial, for the brand and the consumer.
GROHE is also an advocate of effective water use. “Sustainability is a core value of GROHE’s, that’s why we are consistently developing eco-friendly technologies and products,” Fuhr notes. These include precise controls that extend the lifespan of a faucet and reduce wastage or that instantly adjust water temperature to maintain comfort while conserving water.
There is so much more to a faucet than simply turning it on or off. If it carries GROHE’s “Made in Germany” label, then you can rest assured that your faucet is built by the erudite Masters of Technology.
