Fee dispute over undisclose­d murder

A man, surnamed Wang, who bought an apartment for 3 million yuan ($452,400) in Guangzhou demanded a refund after discoverin­g it was the scene of a double murder three years ago. The seller agreed to terminate the contract after Wang protested, but the estate agent still demanded a 90,000 yuan brokerage fee, claiming that Wang had been informed of the crime. Wang refused to pay the fee, saying the agent had said only that people had died in the apartment, not that they had been murdered.
